Re-architecture of legacy trading platform
A leading financial services company acquired a bond trading platform that was running on an obsolete Solaris / Oracle system. The system was slow, unstable, and prone to failures under market stress. We took on the challenge of re-engineering the platform using Linux, in-memory distributed technology, low-latency communication, and fault-tolerance. We followed a pragmatic approach to break down the system into manageable components and refactor them one by one, without disrupting the daily trading activities. We also used a mix of technologies such as C++, Java, Scala, Kafka, Redis etc. to optimize the solution. The new platform was fast and robust: it could handle market events that used to paralyze or crash the old system with ease.
Containerization and DevOps Implementation
We partnered with a fintech company that offers innovative solutions for the capital markets sector to transform their DevOps culture and practices. We leveraged the power of Dockers, Terraform, Jenkins, Antifactory, and Slack to containerize their legacy applications and components to a fully automated and secure CI/CD system. We also ensured that the client’s compliance requirements were met with automated testing and reporting.
Distributed Trading System for cryptocurrencies
Created a cutting-edge Crypto trading platform for Paradigm, a leading OTC derivatives platform, that prioritizes speed and efficiency. The platform was tailored for synthetic instrument involving simultaneous trading of multiple futures/swaps, which are cleared/settled through top crypto exchanges. The platform had to overcome the challenges of having a global distributed architecture, as each crypto exchange is located in a different region. We used technologies such as Golang, Redis, Kafka, Docker, AKS, and API/Web socket streaming to deliver a platform that meets the high standards of latency, throughput and scalability. We completed the project in a few months from concept to delivery.
PVCS to GitLab migration
We successfully migrated a complex PVCS system to Git for a FinTech company. The PVCS system had over 2600 modules with 30 years of revisions and branches. We migrated the modules into individual Git repositories and combined them into one mono repository. It also had a custom build system that linked the specific modules revision to different deployment environments and processes. We used this system to create branches for the Git and what modules revision goes into it. We modified the custom build system to use the Git mono repo and eliminated the reliance on PVCS servers. Additionally, we migrated the custom build system to CMake/Conan/Gradle, which reduced the build time from 8 hours to 40 minutes.
